Academics Invited to Contribute to Parliamentary Select Committee Inquiries on COVID-19

The UK Parliament is inviting academics and researchers to share their insights and expertise on a range of areas relating to the coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic and its various impacts by contributing to a number of select committee inquiries.
Academics and researchers are invited to submit written evidence to any select committee that is relevant to their area of expertise. Parliament has produced a guide to submitted evidence to select committees, accessible here. The committees and their respective deadlines for submission are as follows:
- The COVID-19 pandemic and international trade – Deadline for submissions: 24 April 2020
- Unequal impact: Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the impact on people with protected characteristics - Deadline: 30 April 2020
- The impact of coronavirus on businesses and workers - Deadline: 30 April 2020
- Impact of COVID-19 on DCMS sectors - Deadline: 1 May 2020
- Impact of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) on homelessness and the private rented sector - Deadline: 1 May 2020
- COVID-19 and food supply - Deadline: 1 May 2020
- Humanitarian crises monitoring: impact of coronavirus - Deadline: 8 May 2020
- The impact of COVID-19 on education and children's services - Deadline: 31 May 2020
- Left behind white pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds - Deadline: 5 June 2020
- The Government's response to COVID-19: human rights implications - Deadline: 22 July 2020
- UK Science, Research and Technology Capability and Influence in Global Disease Outbreaks - Deadline: 31 July 2020
In addition to the select committees, Parliament is inviting people with expertise relating to the COVID-19 outbreak or its impacts to sign up to its COVID-19 Outbreak Expert Database. This database will be used by Parliamentary staff, Members of both Houses and their staff to rapidly contact experts and gain their insights on different areas relating to the COVID-19 outbreak and its impacts.
